Living With Yourself

Living with Yourself grew out of years of meditation, reading, and personal reflection. Along the way, I had the opportunity to study at Birken Forest Buddhist Monastery in British Columbia, learning directly from Ajahn Sona, a monk with 25 years of experience.

This book is a guide to becoming more present and cultivating lasting inner happiness. Inside, you’ll find meditations and practical tools to help manage anxious or overwhelming thoughts, discover joy in the everyday moments, and develop a sense of faith and calm that stays with you.

Living with Yourself is about doing the inner work slowing down, reflecting, and learning to live in alignment with who you truly are. By applying these practices, you can create a life that feels more peaceful, balanced, and meaningful one day at a time.

The Four Pillars Podcast

I started this podcast after realizing something simple: you can’t build a meaningful life by focusing on just one piece of it. Happiness isn’t one-dimensional. And life tends to fall apart when we try to treat it that way.

When your health is off mentally, physically, or spiritually it leaks into everything. When your relationships aren’t built on honesty, nothing else feels stable. And even if you’re making money, if you’re not living with a purpose, that quiet emptiness doesn’t go away.

This podcast is about what’s underneath it all. The foundation that holds everything else up.

Some episodes are practical. Some are reflective. Sometimes we talk about greatness. Sometimes we talk about love, grief, and marriage. Other times, I’m diving deep into the things I’m most curious about along with the stories, mine and others’, that shape us. Sharing what I find in hopes it helps a fellow human.

The point is simple: I’m here to serve and help you build all four pillars. A life leaning on one pillar usually falls over.

Four Pillars is about building a structure that can carry the weight of your life.

About Bobby Basran

I’ve always been curious about how life actually works people, ideas, patterns, and the stories we live inside of. That curiosity has shaped everything I do. I love learning, asking questions, and pulling ideas apart just enough to make them useful, human, and easy to live with.

A lot of what’s taught me the most has come from books, conversations, travel, family and time spent paying attention. Life has taught me that things tend to work better when we slow down, reflect, and build a little awareness and discipline into the way we live.

I created the Four Pillars podcast (and wrote Living with Yourself) to explore what it really means to live a full, balanced life. One built on health, wealth, love, and happiness. I’m less interested in having the “right” answers and more interested in good questions, open conversation, and learning from every angle.

At the end of the day, this is about sharing stories, ideas, and experiences that help us think a little deeper, live a little more intentionally, and build lives we’re proud to stand in.
